Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fernando Frizzo (“we”, “us”, or “our”), the developer of Folio, collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our mobile application. We are based in Australia and comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

Authentication data — if you link your account to Apple or Google sign-in, we receive your name and email address from the provider. Anonymous accounts collect no personal data.
Business profile — business name, ABN, address, logo, and payment details you enter into the app. This data is stored in your own Firebase project.
Invoice and client data — invoices, credit notes, client records, and payment history you create in the app.
Purchase data — subscription status managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details.
Device identifier — an anonymous device ID used for crash reporting.

3. How we use your data

To provide the invoicing service you signed up for.
To process your premium subscription via RevenueCat.
To send invoices on your behalf via SendGrid when you tap Send.
To improve the app through anonymous crash reports.
To respond to support requests or legal obligations.

4. Third-party services

We share data with the following processors, each operating under their own privacy policies:

Firebase (authentication & database) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
RevenueCat (subscription management) — revenuecat.com/privacy
SendGrid (email delivery, Pro tier only) — twilio.com/legal/privacy

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data (authentication record, business profile, invoices, clients, and settings) is permanently deleted within 7 days. See our account deletion page for details.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correction of inaccurate data.
Erasure — you can delete your account by contacting us, or delete individual records from within the app at any time.
Complain — if you believe we have breached the APPs, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

7. Children’s privacy

Folio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. International data transfers

Some of our third-party processors (Firebase, RevenueCat, SendGrid) may process data outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) for all data in transit. Authentication credentials are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top. Your continued use of the app after a change counts as acceptance.
